After receiving a lot of awesome content from other parks (thanks to our awesome representatives), and after it’s almost been 2 months since the last update for this park, I decided it was time to go back to Six Flags Magic Mountain (our home park) to bring you guys a new update! So without further ado, let’s get this started!
First off, the flowers for the “Magic Mountain” and “Hurricane Harbor” signs have been replaced and they look great. I would just like to say that Six Flags Magic Mountain has really been stepping up their game (landscaping wise) for the past 2 years and the park is looking really good (now if only they can get the Sky Tower reopened and repainted. :P).
They are now advertising “Visit Vallejo” featuring ads for a ferry to/from San Francisco, 3 championship golf courses, and of course, The Joker at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Which is awesome.
Next up, the park is now advertising for their new event on July 21, Haribo twin snakes day. If you have a pass, or were planning to go sometime this month, I would highly recommend you go to the park on this day as it should be a pretty fun filled day with giveaways, and (if you’re a season passholder) exclusive ride time.
After at least 3 months of not being open to anybody, Street Fighter V is finally back. This time it’s presented as ‘Mike and Ike Game Zone” It’s weird that they call that, when all they have is a sign saying the name for it. But I guess they don’t HAVE to have the Mike and Ike candy for it to be called “Mike and Ike Game Zone”.
Over near The New Revolution, dispatch times almost always take longer than it should. Which is disappointing, because on opening day they kept sending out train after train with almost no delays. Hopefully they’ll figure out how to make dispatch times quicker soon.
Also, The New Revolution is starting to gain an annoying squeak when it leaves/enters the station. Not nearly as bad the one Twisted Colossus used to have. But it’s still bad. Hopefully they fix that soon, as it’s only been open not even 3 months and that would suck for it to already start showing it’s age.
We knew it was too good to be true…. Viper is now “ad central” again, this time they are advertising Shark Week on the Discovery Channel (Like SFMM’s next door neighbor, Hurricane Harbor. But more on that later). Look, I’ll be honest with you, I like this much better than the Got2B glued ads. Still not a big fan, nonetheless.
One of the more surprising things I found while at the park was that a lot of the rides had very minimal wait times (besides The New Revolution due to extended dispatch times). Here are a couple shots of the short lines I saw while I was at the park.
Speaking of SEFK, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were running both sides again. I’m very glad they’re doing this again (As they should be), as it makes the line way shorter.
Primo’s Pizzeria is not offering the BBQ Pizza anymore. At least I got to try it before they stopped offering it. Did you get a chance to try the limited time only BBQ Pizza? Tell us in the comments!
Now here is what I hope most of you have been waiting for: The update on the future location of the newest addition to Six Flags Magic Mountain! Nothing really new to report (sadly). all that’s new are a few pipelines have been placed down and some more of the land has been flattened, but other than that not too much to report. P.S. Sorry if the pictures are a little blurry. Keep in mind that I had to get these pictures from squeezing the camera through the fence so just bear with me.
For those wondering about if Tidal Wave is going to close or reopen.. we have news! Tidal Wave will not be closing and the park is just waiting for a part to arrive so they can get it up and running. They are also in the process of repaving the exit walkway, and repainting the fence on the way to DC Universe and Screampunk District. Could this be the start of the refurbishment of this area? Let’s hope so!
After being away for refurbishment for the past 2 months or so, the purple train has returned and has made it able so Twisted Colossus is now doing 3 train operations again. And you know what that means.. more dueling! 😀
Speaking of Twisted Colossus, the landscaping around it is looking amazing (better than it did last year).
Goliath is now being sponsored by the show ‘Impractical Jokers”, oddly enough, one of the trains even has it’s own train wrap designed for the show. But then again, Viper did pretty much the same thing, just with a different show so it’s not THAT odd. 😛
That’s all the updates we have from SFMM. Now let’s move over to Hurricane Harbor where the new Python Plundge just opened! But before we get to that, Hurricane Harbor is advertising Shark Week as well, and in a very creative way I might add. They put sharks in the pool to advertise for Shark Week. And it’s pretty awesome if I do say so myself.
Last but certainly not least, Python Plunge is open! I only had the chance to ride the blue slide, but just from riding that one I can tell you it’s incredible! Definitely recommend it!
Little bonus segment for you guys. Below is a picture of a 6 year old riding the yellow slide that drops at about 70 degrees. And I just want to take a minute to say how awesome and brave this kid is! Even I was a little nervous getting on the blue one. I actually got the chance to talk to his dad and he told me his name is Alec! Congratulations on being more brave than most people, Alec! You’ve got a thrill-seeking future ahead of you!
Thank you for checking out this Park Update!
Have you ridden Python Plunge? If so, what did you think? Tell us in the comments!
