With the chain-wide Six Flags announcement for 2017 less than 2 weeks away, we decided it would be the perfect time to have our first official predictions for what Six Flags will be receiving in the next season! This time (duh), we will be talking specifically about the 2017 season! So without further ado, let’s get this started!
Disclaimer: Some predictions listed below may not go into detail as much as others (if they go into detail at all). Thank you for understanding.
Six Flags Magic Mountain: Justice League: Battle for Metropolis & Flat Rides
For months there have been signs pointing to Six Flags Magic Mountain (among other parks) receiving a Justice League dark ride in 2017. There have been other permits for other parks to receive them, the park sent out a survey saying they will be receiving 3 Justice League dark rides at 3 of their parks in 2017. Now, of course, they could potentially go to 3 parks without one of the parks being
SFMM, but this seems the most likely. And for the flat rides, the area around The Movie District is — in my opinion at least — big enough to fit a Justice League AND something else. Could be shops, could be flat rides, the point is I think there adding more than just a Justice League. While we all want the park to get a coaster, I just don’t see them getting one this year. Nevertheless, 2017 is still going to be an awesome year.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom: New show, a retheme of the area around the Joker to DC Universe/DC Super Friends and Kong to receive Virtual Reality year round
2017 isn’t going to be a huge year for Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. All I am predicting is a new show, a retheme to the area around The Joker, to a DC Universe or DC Super Friends area, and I’m also guessing that Kong will receive VR year-round and it’ll either have a The New Revolution, or a totally unique theme. They wouldn’t just go through all the work, then just not keep the VR on Kong, as I’m sure it’s not gonna be that cheap of a project. It’ll be a pretty basic year for Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, but a basic year means making the park a better place. Which is always nice to see.
Six Flags Over Texas: Bumper Cars and an S&S 4D Free Fly Coaster
A lot of signs have been pointing to Six Flags Over Texas receiving an S&S 4D Free Fly Coaster in 2017. Also, the park filed a permit for bumper cars I think it’s awesome the park might potentially get an S&S 4D Free Fly and bumper cars, as it’s always awesome when parks focus more than just coasters.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas: Primer Rides or B&M RollerCoaster
This park has been teasing for a while that what is coming in 2017 is going to have something to have something do with the quarry wall. And what it seems to be leading towards the most is a coaster. As for what type of coaster. They don’t really seem to have a lot of options to choose from as of now. I’d say they could go for either Primer Rides or B&M. Even if I’m wrong, these are just predictions (some more than others 😉 ).
Six Flags Over Georgia: Justice League: Battle for Metropolis
This is the park that filed for a permit for a building that was the same square feet as a Justice League dark ride. So with that, there really isn’t that much to say. Six Flags Over Georgia will most likely be receiving a Justice League dark ride in 2017.
Six Flags Great America: S&S 4D Free Fly Coaster
Six Flags America: RMC Roar
This park is very hard to predict what they could be getting. Even though they haven’t announced it’s closure, there still could be a chance Roar could still get RMC’d in 2017.
Six Flags New England: S&S 4D Free Fly Coaster
It seems like Six Flags will be adding a lot of S&S 4D Free Fly Coasters this year. I’m not complaining, of course. Just seems a little ambitious to add 4 Free Spins, as they only added 1 last year. Now of course, our predictions could be wrong, but that’s what seems most likely at this time.
Six Flags St. Louis: S&S 4D Free Fly Coaster
The Great Escape: Water Park Expansion
Unfortunately, I don’t see this park getting anything huge. They got a sort of big attraction last year with their Larson Super Loop, but all I really see them getting is a water park expansion. If I’m wrong, great. Because this park desperately needs a major attraction to bring coaster enthusiasts to this park.
Six Flags Great Adventure: Justice League: Battle for Metropolis
Along with Six Flags Over Georgia, the park has filed for permits for a building perfectly matching the size for a Justice League: Battle for Metropolis dark rides. This is a great addition to the park, and will for sure attract people of all groups (Kids, Adults, etc.).
La Ronde: Larson Super Loop
This is one of the last parks that doesn’t have a Larson Loop, and we all know how the park has been adding these Super Loops for the last 3 years (counting 2017), even though they aren’t coasters, they still make for a pretty thrilling flat ride, with tons of hangtime.
Six Flags Mexico: Larson Super Loop
Let’s end this text-heavy (:P) post with a picture of The Riddler’s Revenge (closing sometime in September, along with Tidal Wave, the Rock Climbing Wall, and JB’s!)
Thank you for checking out this very long, basically just text, post! Did you enjoy it?
